Brett K. Anderson is a student at Minnesota State University, Mankato where he is working towards a master's degree in business administration. He earned a bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, from MSU, Mankato in nursing in Spring 2011. Anderson was born and grew up in Windom, Minn. His family currently resides in Ellendale, Minn. Anderson has one brother who attends New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva High School.
As an undergraduate, Anderson was an involved as a student leader in many organizations and on many committees. He is a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. Anderson served as the vice president of the Minnesota State Student Association at MSU, Mankato during the 2010-2011 academic year. He is a professional member of Sigma Theta Tau International, the nursing honor society, in which he was designated Undergraduate Student of the Year for the Mu Lambda Chapter in 2011. Anderson was also honored for academic and clinical excellence by both the Mankato Clinic and the Mayo Clinic Health System - Mankato Auxiliary. Anderson has worked extensively as a pharmacy technician and served as a consultant for the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning in Mankato. Gov. Mark Dayton appointed Anderson to the Board of Trustees July 1, 2011, to a two-year term that expires June 30, 2013. Anderson represents state university students on the Board of Trustees.Gov.
